Mac OS 8 Setup

  • Go to your Assistants (or Internet) folder within your Hard Disk.
    Double click on the Internet Setup Assistant
  • Select Update..
  • If you are setting up Internet for the first time on your mac Select Add Internet configuration. Otherwise, select Modify. Click the right arrow.
  • Name the configuration "PCI Internet". If you are using your modem select Modem. Click the right arrow.
  • Select your modem from the list, if your modem is not there select Hayes or US Robotics. Select which port your modem is connected to. Select Tone or Pulse. Click the right arrow.
  • Put your local dial-in number from POP Locations and Numbers page. Put your username in. Then put in your password. Click the right arrow.
  • Select no. Click the right arrow.
  • Enter the numbers into the box shown below. Type presys.com ALL LOWERCASE into the next box. Click the right arrow.
  • Type in your e-mail address in the same format as shown below.
    Type in your password. Click the right arrow.
  • Put your username in as shown below. Type presys.com. Click right arrow.
  • Select the news server you would like to be the default. Our news server is news.presys.com Click the right arrow.
  • You are all finished! Click 'Go Ahead' and it will bring you to PPP which can also be accessed from the Control Panels.
  • Just click connect if it doesn't already do so for you and you are on.
  • To sign on go to the Internet Dialer in the Internet Control Panel.
