Windows XP Internet Setup

  1. Click on the "Start" button and open the "Control Panel"

  2. With the "Control Panel" in category view choose "Network and internet Connections."

    (If your not in category view skip to step 3.)
  3. Click on "Network Connections"

  4. Click on "Create a new connection".Windows XP
  5. Click on the "Next" button at the bottom of the Connections Wizard screen.
  6. Click in the "Connect to the Internet" radio button.

  7. Click on the "Next" button.
  8. Click on the "Set up my connection manually" radio button.

  9. Click on the "Next" button.
  10. Click on the "Connect using a dial-up modem" radio button.

  11. Click on the "Next" button.
  12. Type in the domain part of your e-mail address as the name of your connection.
    (If your e-mail address is janedoe@oregonfcu.com the domain part will be oregonfcu.com)

  13. Click on the "Next" button.
  14. Enter the phone number for your area from POP Locations and Numbers.

  15. Click on the "Next" button.
  16. Enter your full e-mail address in the "User name" blank.
  17. Enter your password in the "Password" blank.
  18. Re-enter your password in the "Verify Password" blank.
  19. Uncheck "Turn on Internet Connection Firewall for this Connection."

  20. Click on the "Next" button.
  21. Check the "Add a Shortcut to this connection to my desktop."

  22. Click on the "Finish" button.
  23. Close the "Network Connections" screen.
  24. Double click on the shortcut that is on the desktop to the dialup we just created.

  25. Press the connect button.
